Cassaundra Jah, PhD, CPM, LM, IBCLC

Cassaundra Jah is proof that the universe has a sense of humor and excellent taste – because she started her career as an aerospace engineer, calculating trajectories and defying gravity, before realizing that the most powerful force in the universe wasn't rocket thrust, it was the moment a new life enters the world. So she did what any completely logical person would do: she traded in the aerospace industry for a midwifery bag and never looked back, bringing that same precision, problem-solving, and "failure is not an option" energy to the birthing room.

Today, Cassaundra serves as the Executive Director of the National Association of Certified Professional Midwives (NACPM), where she leads with the kind of clarity and conviction that can only come from someone who has seen both the blueprint of a Mars rover and the face of a dear client meeting her baby for the first time – and understood that both are, in their own way, miracles of engineering. She is a fierce advocate for midwives, for the communities they serve, and for a world where every birthing person has access to skilled, compassionate, culturally grounded care. Cassaundra moves through this work with warmth, wit, and a depth of purpose that makes everyone around her feel both seen and challenged to rise.
